The club held its first AKC Hunt Test on the weekend of May 9-10, 2015 at the Badlands Bird Dog Club training grounds in Williston, ND. A big thank you to the Badlands Bird Dog Club for their hospitality and the generous help of their members.
Thank you to the judges that sat in the saddle over the weekend, Shane Anderson, Chris Benskin, and Lance Schulz.
After some difficulty in getting birds for the test, Wayne Emil of Dakota Gamebirds in Bismarck, ND came through with some very nice chukars for us. Thank you Wayne for working with us on such short notice.
Thank you to everybody that came out to participate, lend a hand, or even spectate. We had a nice turn out and hope that we can continue to have this event in the spring and are looking into the possibility of a fall Hunt Test also.
The long distance driver award goes to Tom Maneely from the AKC who drove up from him home in Nebraska to help us out and be their to answer any questions. One way drive time was 12 hours.
